釹鐵硼，簡單來講是一種（zhǒng）磁鐵，含有大量的稀（xī）土元（yuán）素釹、以及鐵及硼，其特性硬而脆。釹（nǚ）鐵硼作為稀土永磁材料的一種具有極高的磁能積和矯頑力（lì），同時高能量（liàng）密度的優點使釹（nǚ）鐵硼永磁材料在現代工（gōng）業和電子技術中（zhōng）獲得了廣泛應用（yòng），從而使儀器儀表、電聲電機（jī）、磁選磁化等設備的小型（xíng）化、輕量化、薄型化成（chéng）為可能。

由於表麵極易被氧（yǎng）化（huà）腐蝕，釹鐵硼必須進行表麵塗層處理。表麵化學鈍化是很好的解決方法（fǎ）之一。

NdFeB, which is simply a magnet, contains a large amount of rare earth element lanthanum, as well as iron and boron, and its characteristics are hard and brittle. As a kind of rare earth permanent magnet material, NdFeB has the extremely high magnetic energy product and coercive force, and the high energy density makes NdFeB permanent magnet material widely used in modern industrial and electronic technology, thus making it possible to miniaturize, lightweight and thin, in the instrument of electroacoustic motors, and magnetic separation magnetization.

Because of the surface highly susceptible to oxidative corrosion, NdFeB surface must be coated. Surface chemical passivation is one of the best solutions.
